The Monument was erected by the K.S.A.C. and interested sponsors in "Honour of Children Who Died Under Tragic/Violent Circumstances".

The Monument was unveiled at a Civic Ceremony hosted by the Mayor of Kingston & St. Andrew Senator Councillor Desmond McKenzie C.D., J.P. on November 20, 2008.

The Monument can be seen as one of the greatest achievements undertaken by this Council. Its purpose is to send strong messages to those in the society who continue to brutally destroy the children of our future. It is ereceted at the corner of Church and Tower Streets.
